Another freaking quiz
Okay, I know this is the bazillionth quiz I've posted and I would not have posted except the results made me stop and ponder what a world where I could shoot lightning bolts from my butt on command would be like. I'm pretty sure that would be a better, more interesting world than the current iteration. Anywho, here's whats I gots:

Pikachu -- the loveable, quiet one. No one has
really ever seen you peeved, but when you get
angry, you get miffed! You may even shoot bolts
of lightning out of your ass. You would rather
not confront people but when you have to, you
are aware that there are no alternate methods
to solve the problem.

The week according to JoeBuck
Well, today marks the end of another work week and we are all a few days closer to the final skee-ball park in the sky. Work went okay. I should journal my growing frustration and anymosity towards most all windows products. If anyone wants an overly technical description on why windows truely and offically is a piece of crap just ask me and ohhh will I tell you.
On the "not about work" front I went to a fun concert at the Triple Rock for Travis's birthday on last Sunday. It's a cool little club. The bands were pretty good. The headliner's, The Good Life, were good and really funny. The lead singer started out by saying he's wanted to come to MN for quite some time and he wanted this to be the best show of the tour. Then the keyboard flips out and some fairly comical carrying-ons occur as a result. A few songs later he chucks the play list, apologizes because he feels that the night is turning into the worst show on the tour and says, "Hey, you guys tell us what to play". From that point on it was a lot of fun. He dedicated two songs to Travis, which was cool. The first one was super funny, you should ask me about it in person unless you're my mom, the second one was a quality song in it's own right.
Tonight brooke and I are going to see saw. I'm been looking forward to this since I heard about it's showing at sundance. It looks to be a classic horror movie.
That's about all I've got. Keep on a rockin' for the kids and don't let the man get you down.

I did this a while ago but here it is now...
I yanked this off of kruck's site and then passed the link to brooke but never posted mine. I'm guessing anyone that knows me at all could have guessed the outcome. Meh, you win some you loose some.

I'm moving up, I'm now thrid
Granted it has nothing to do with my last post but I just got home, after playing poker for five hours straight and I walked away with third place. From a field of 19, and being the low or lower stack for the last 3 hours or so, I'm really happy with that. brooke also played and being it was her first time I was very impressed.
Kristie or Josh, if you're wondering who beat me it was Brian Boehm and Davad Wan, with Brian dealing me the death blow. I had a pocket pair of nines but he picked up a second ace on the turn. You win some, you lose some.
Go out and have a great weekend, if you're in MN you gotta dig this weather for being so late in October.

I'm number 6, I'm number 6
So, on a whim I decided to google my name and I was amazed to find that my site came up sixth. Wahoo for me. I know you're probally all thinking, "whoopty crap buck, it's your name, big deal". You see, previously I was ranked much lower due to a certain rock-a-billy bar band and some guy that likes baseball. This rise from anonymity to slightly less anonymity renews my hope in the school systems, the environment and the NHL strike ending sooner. Lay down your sticks seal clubbers of the world and put down the chain-saws o' deforesters of the amazon, it's a brighter day, indeed, for all mankind.

Yet another quiz
Well, I know I've been throwing a lot of these up here lately but I've liked them all so deal with it. Here are my results from the "What file extension are you" quiz. I know this is uber-nerdy but the results are pretty humorous in my opinion.

Planes do have keys
A big thanks to Josh for showing me that planes do have keys. This means that the French people's running tally on my "do I spare them when I reign supreme" spreadsheet stable at a "gonna burn" rating because the point I gave the flying drunkman is countered by the point they lose for the guy that left his keys in his plane. Silly, silly French.

One impressive Frenchman
Well, caught this article at the bbc. Seems a French man snuck onto an airfield, stole a single-prop airplane, flew for half an hour, they referred to it as joyriding, before being detected by radar, was escorted to the ground by a military helicopter, was arrested and then escaped. He won't be able to get into his house though because he left his keys in the stolen plane. The police, these being the ones he escaped from I would assume, said he was in a "visible state of drunkenness". So he was visibly drunk but got around airport security, into a plane, do planes have a key like a car?, flew a plane, managed to land it and then escape from police. This man is freaking McGyver when he's loaded, wonder what he's capable of when he's sober?

I like Exploding Dog
Someone, I think dave, sent me a link to exploding dog.com. I remember having seen the stuff before but I must have been not thinking or something because I don't remember liking it when in all reality it's really good stuff. This guy just takes suggestions, in the form of caption's, from anyone and then draws something to that caption. I really like his take on some of the titles. I was checking out his store because I wanted a print, my office is still naked and depressingly white, but all the ones I liked are sold out. If anyone knows where I can get some sweet prints or other cool stuff let me know. Bonus points if it contains nerd cred, like maybe a Matt Groening print.
Oh, and here's the obligatory quiz to determine which exploding dog you are:

This'll peck a fight
Well, the old /. today showed me an article about how Russia is planning on doing a 500 day simulation on a manned mission to Mars. They are going to lock six men in a metal tube with a preset amount of food/oxygen/water and a doctor and let them do their thing. They will let them out if a medical or psychological emergency occurs.
I find the last line interesting:
"Polyakov told Interfax reporters that the 500 Days experiment will not include female volunteers."
Does this officially indicate that boys are cooler than girls, as all of us suspected in our "tween" years? Or is it that scientists fear that without being able to tell the men to take out the garbage or clean the garage the women will be forced to actually consider things like "who would win in a battle, spiderman or batman". (author's note : the answer is definately batman).
Interesting.....

Another /. article
Alright, one for the little guys. The supreme court has dened the RIAA's appeal so now they must file John Doe suits before they just start sending demands for information to ISP's. The DMCA has had the first chink in it's armor exposed, hopefully more will follow.

Season three is upon us, let the rejoicing commense
So, there's this little thing called red vs blue that I'm a huge fan of. ./ just alerted me to the fact that season three has just begun. For those of you that have never seen this I recommend pulling some episodes from the archives. It's just some people doing voice overs of in-game halo footage. It's seriously funny. Paul bought the season two dvd and I think it's money well spent.

If you haven't played settlers of Catan yet, don't worry. It's going online style soon. It's a great game and I think brooke, betsy and pete will all back me up on that.

Ballmer must be a Kerry supporter...
Because he's a flip-flopping machine. In all reality I don't know as much about the elections as I should, but I hope to watch the debates and learn more. I just like'd the idea of that as the intro line. The article talks about how a guy used microsoft's feedback system to demand an apology after Steve Ballmer, Microsoft's #2 and highest ranking screaming fool, made comments that ipod's are full of stolen music which would stand to reason that ipod owner's are theif's and hooligans. Oh silly Steve....I understand that music theft is an issue. I feel that the recording industry is trying to hold on to the old paradigm for dear life when they should be trying to find new ways to make money and not alieanate their user base or lie about the effects of downloads on cd sales. The future might be scary but it's coming, like it or not.

If you're a fan of the movie "Bottle Rocket"...
...you'll get more out of this qoute, "I blew it". I broke the build. That means an email went out to all of Roseville, including my manager specifically, saying "Joe Buck broke the build last night so nothing works today and won't until maybe tomorrow".
Welcome to real world.......:(
