A link and a movie recommendation

Firstly, Nelson sent me this link that talk a little bit about the W's personal habits as it relates to culture and his ipod.
Lastly, since josh is throwing out movie recommendations I'm going to follow suite. I hereby recommend Secondhand Lions as a great drama. I might put it at Legend of 1900 caliber if pressed. Also, on the foreign film front, I recommend City of God.

Holy Creepy Batman

I was doing my daily reading of the BBC and came across this article. I won't describe it but I will give this excerpt.
"Doctors said the second head was capable of smiling and blinking - but not of independent life."
Click on the link for the context and a picture that will haunt you to your last days.
On a more light-hearted note this article is somewhat amusing and non-nightmare inducing.

My Army of Cyborg-Monkey-Ninja's is one step closer

Because Pittsburg scientist strapped a monkey into a chair and he can move a robot arm. Righ now they can only pick up food but, given a couple years and the proper motivation/brain washing, I could be directing my seemingly infinite horde of simbian assasins across the globe. I, a modern napolean with my right hand tucked into my twede J Crew blazer with leather arm patches. My monkeys, more feirce than the fabled Mongol hordes of old, weilding their tiny monkey swords with amazingly precise and monstrosly fierce strokes.
MMMMwwwaaa-hahahahaha.
Who's in? I could use a good #2 person.

Corporate Holidays and Free Storage

I love corporate holidays. They are much like a snow day or MEA but you get to goof off and get paid. Wahooo.
Also, I'm a fan of PvP, an online comic. The artist posted a link to something called filecloud. It's much like an iDisk, or the free storage component of .Mac for those that are not old school enough to remember the iDisk. It's just a chunk of free storage out there that you have. It has a slick web interface and you can put authentication on files or have them be plubic and a bunch of other features like that. The reason I put this up is that the first 10,000 people to sign up get it free and I'm a sucker for free storage. Plus they used the word terabyte in the add for it which also falls into the "I'm a sucker for" category.
Check it out, post a comment if you use it.
Keep on a rockin' for the kids.
ps. the excitement about the corporate holiday is because I get Monday off for President's day which is even better because that's not a real holiday. I get the day off, paid, for a make believe holiday. I mean, what are we celebrating, the fact that we have presidents. Yep, sure do. So do lots of other countries, we don't excatly have the president market cornered. And it's not like we're celebrating the fact that they were all awesome. I mean, out country has done some pretty crappy things and some of that blame goes the the man in charge. If it were like "Presidents before the 20th century but not the one in charge of killing Indians and FDR,JFK,Carter and Reagan" Day then we could talk about it but just a generic Presidents day? Must've created my Fakey McMakebelive Inc. or something.
pps. I really don't know a ton about what the presidents of the 20th century actually did while they were in office so those names were pretty much off that cuff. I left out Nixon, Clinton and both the bushes on purpose. The first one was okay but his son speaks like a redneck monkey and he's got to be held accountable for that.

Some scientists are just silly

Well, in the ever growing debate on stem cell's there is now the arguement for stem cell breast implants. Seriously guys, I know the fact that you can use stem cells like biological lincoln logs is neat but lets look at cancer and alzheimers before we try and make women more self-confident, eh?
Also, I am in the process of procuring this fine piece of art. I'm a big fan of this guy's work and I'm jazzed I was finally able to get my hands on a piece. That'll look good in the office the next time someone comes to hassle me :)

i wish i was cool like brooke

brooke is the coolest person i know on the face of the earth (next to jesus, of course...).

so today is valentine's day, i gave my girlfriend some beautiful flowers (according to her). she made me dinner...man, can she cook :) haha...

now, i'm reading a book, sitting on brooke's couch, and enjoying chewing gum....brooke gave me some white headphones for valentine's day....isn't it odd that we buy each other gifts for a holiday like today? i think it's kinda weird....but it's ok, i gave brooke pearls...and lucked out cause her birthday was a week ago (i killed two birds with one stone...haha)

so...i've been sick for the last few days....something about bronchitas (i think that's how you spell it), work is going well...i tell brooke that i like my job a lot, i feel like i learn something new everytime i work...that's a good thing, right? plus, i get to talk about my dual xeon box all the time...that makes me cool.....among the nerds, at least...right?

so, i am continuing to play lots of war craft, and a little xbox....maybe i need to play a little more gamecube with the gf.....gamecube is sweet....there's mario in it, and stuff....

well, this blog entry is interfering with brooke's lasers homework, so i shall go.......i know, i know...you all wish you could find a girlfriend that does things like lasers homework, right? hahaha

well, i'm out, kids...

Off to the CA with the gf for her b-day

Sorry about the title, I'm in one of those moods.
Well, brooke and I are heading to her parents house in sunny pleasenton, CA for the weekend. There is an array of festivites planned for us, from peticures to dog parks, PF Chang's to In-n-out. I'm partial to the In-n-out and the playing with dogs portions myself. This trip is in recognition of brooke's impending 22nd birthday that happens on the 8th of February. That's a fun word to say.
The volvo has a new antenne and it is currently batting .500 against car washes but we expect those figures to climb as the season progresses.
Nick bought a 55" tv that now consumes our living room. It's awesome and the only complaint is from the neighbors across the street that wished we watched more monster garage so they could see it in HD also.
Work is going. Word to the nerdy out there, never deal with raw devices under *nix, it's a battle you don't want to fight and may very well lose.
Oh, and I won the parking lottery at work so I'm parking in the underground ramp with the VP's and what not for this month. Yeah :)
If you're looking for some cd's to check out I'm really digging Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (itunes link) and Matt Pond PA's emblems (itunes link ).
