One my of new top 5 favorite things the internet has shown me
I found this movie at a site that trades in humor primarily funny to the college aged crowd. It appears to be a video from 50's or 60's britain where they gave the troops lsd and watched their battle readiness degrade. It is packaged like a small documentary and is pretty funny. Such observations like "45 minutes after taking the drug the rocket launching team showed a marked reduction in accuracy" or something to that effect. Good stuff.
Another video from that site shows a rather humorus ending to an episode of college jeopardy. The joke may only be apparent to those being a member of, or those being annoyed by a member of, the video gaming community. Also note how badly he beat the other 2. Go go carnegie mellon.
Also, an oldie but a goodie, the end of the world. (definate swears in this one)

Favorite /. article title of the year
Space Penguin Could Hop Around The Moon. The article is a bit of a let down as you come to find that there is no real penguin, just a rover deally that "hops" via turbine bursts in low-g but man, whata concept. That's up there with the impending cyberape revolution ( warning, second link contains swears ).

I think this is kinda sad...anyone else
So a kid from Eagan isn't too great with the ladies. His solution, auction off his first kiss on ebay. I hate to tell you but if the ladies aren't nabbing that up for free, why would they pay for it? I guess he now has a wider audience so that may have been his plan the whole time.

I'm watching the Comedy Central roast of Pam Anderson, like thats hard, and for some reason Bea Arthur is there and everyone is making jokes questioning her gender. Very odd....

I think Microsoft is trying to patent Bold and italics
I pulled a link to the patent application off of the slashdot article. There should be consequences for doing dumb crap like this that overloads the patent office, causing mistakes. With all this junk coming in they're apt to approve something rediculous, like this patent, and then M$ uses it in court cases, costing companies, and thereby stockholders and/or customers, boat loads of cash. They're basically fabricating yet another beat stick to get their way now that they aren't being viewed as the unbeatable juggernaut they once were.
