Fat guy stuck in the internet

I mentioned this to a few people so I'm posting a link here.
Apparently adult swim picked up a show based on these "Gemberling" shorts that are on youtube. I watched them, they're pretty funny, the first few and last one are the best in my opinion but not a bad way to kill some time.

I am jack's unshakeable desire to laugh at monkies

Found a link to the think geek automatic office target which is just a autoreloading set of three targets for use with office weapons. These are typically foam dart, marshmellow or rubberband ammo firing devices.
There's a video of them using the entire thinkgeek arsenal against it. Jump to the last 1/3 if you are not one for videos, it gets much more funny at the end.

Also, sorry for embedding a video. That's kind of annoying, I'll stick to links from now on or,at worst, something that doesn't start playing automatically.

Drivin' music

So, it looks like a few of my cohorts and I will be heading to Rockford, IL to see Ryan and Melissa. In honor of this momentous occasion, I'm wondering what everyone's favorite driving or travel related music is.
I'll lead off with a few of my own(all links of iTMS links):
Convoy by C.W. McCall
East bound and down by Jerry Reed
Wolf Creek Pass by C.W. McCall ( what can I say, brother writes a good traveling song)
Six days on the road by Sawyer Brown (this one is for my mom)
Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show by Neil Diamond
The Highwayman by The Highwayman

I'm realizing I'm totally country heavy so if you can add some songs of the non-country variety, that'd be much appreciated.

No black screen is a good screen

So, against previous experiences I upgraded several linux modules, reran envy and rebooted my myth box...and it worked. First try. No poking, no log reading, it just worked.
Woot :)

One more for the pile

Will Farrell and a buddy launched another video site called funny or die where videos get voted up or down. Like digg vs youtube or so.
They primed it with a video of their own called the landlord.

It's pretty funny, especially towards the end. The girl is the guy that's not Will Farrell's daughter.
Somehow, this makes me want to teach Sam to do this stuff.

UPDATE: Josh doesn't think this is funny, I rescind my desire to have Sam do this. I'll have to wait until I have my own progeny to corrupt.

hurt...

I saw a BBC article about a fire at Johnny Cash's house and it mentioned that his last video, his cover of Hurt by N.I.N was shot there.
I realized I'd never seen the video so I pulled it up on youtube and it's really good. I figured I'd post a link in case others hadn't seen it, it's definitely worth the 3-4 minutes of your time to watch it.

Best thing of the month

Digg had a link to a trailer for the best show that never was. The premise is Jack Black was an astronaut that was exposed to an inappropriate amount of solar radiation that made him the smartest man on earth. Owen Wilson voices his sentient motorcycle "heat vision".
This is total tongue-in-cheek awesomeness, seriously, watch it now or rue the day you didn't.

the sequal to ironic

Brooke sent me a link to Alanis covering My Humps. I vote "awesomely bad" for the win.

Mr. Falcon rides again

The guys at pandas had a link to the trailer for the upcoming, fourth die hard installment, live free or die hard. The trailer is a stock, action fair but note the Kevin Smith cameo at the end, that makes me happy. I'm also hoping that Justin Long tries to get Bruce Willis to swing by the apple store so he can get a new case for his ipod at some point in the movie.

Bonus die hard content, check out this die hard music video by some punk band. Probably not safe for cubicle land as the line "yippie kai yah....." play a prominent role in the chorus.

We are all our parents

Digg had a link to an article talking about seven deadly sins as they pertain to programmers. It's a short read, more true than not, and has a few chuckles in it.
