Apparently I'm "captain political agenda" today

The BBC has an article about Paul Wolfowitz's top aide stepping down amidst all the controversy surrounding Paul's actions in securing his girlfriend a job at the pentagon and much larger than average pay bumps.
The aide stepped down because he didn't feel that was doing much good because of the controversy. That aside, I liked this quote from the article:

The committee is also believed to be examining other controversial employment arrangements amid claims Mr Wolfowitz gave senior posts to trusted former colleagues, who did not have much relevant experience.

These are the questionable hires we need to look into? Not Michael Brown, the abandoner of New Orleans, Alberto Gonzalez, the attorney general that can't remember dates and facts, or John Bolton, the US ambassador to the UN that belittled it's very existence and that the US congress repeatedly refused to endorse?
I'm all for looking into sketchy things but I feel that this is a case of the maintenance staff on the titanic looking into a leaky toilet as the ship went down.

UPDATE:
Upon reading the wiki articles I found some interesting tidbits.
Apparently before the New Orleans disaster, Michael Brown ran the other organization he ran, the IAHA, into the ground and also produced more than a little controversy by using organization funds to put money into a defense fund for his family.
Also, John Bolton apparently employed the "oh gee, since you caught me I'll say I forgot" defense in regards to a discrepancy on forms he filled out for the senate. I guess remembering that you were questioned two years earlier by the state department in relation to false statements used to prop up a campaign to go to war is a forgettable occasion :/

Wow...just...wow....

dear captain political agenda,
nice work on the titanic metaphor. :) i suspect that you need to change your expectations in order to be satisfied (or, just stop expecting rational thinking out of a group of people that have proved to not use it thus far...)
sincerely,

p.s. did you see that paris hilton is going to jail for 45 days?

I did see that Brooke but thanks for making sure I knew. Does Promises run a a county jail by any chance? ;)

Holy crap, I wasn't far off with the promises comment.
In my self-respect/self-defense, that came across dig.

Apparently the judge specifically prevented her from picking anything other than the assigned location.

As for the government issues, in the current arrangement I'd be more surprised if something wasn't corrupted than if it was.

Where did you read that the judge forbade her to change the location? Wondering if I missed that point or if you pulled it from a source I didn't see (I try to commit due diligence, I swear )

Unfortunately I don't remember where I saw the article, as I stumbled across it but it wasn't really something that I cared about. It also appears the browser doesn't have it due to an unfortunate crash. Sorry. I do remember it listed no selection of location and no work release.

I think this is the one I originally saw, although apparently this has replaced it.

it warms my heart to see that celebrity gossip is accounting for a large number of comments on your blog, joe buck. :)
