Catch the wave, ride the tubes

So, two random thoughts brought to you from my subconscious via youtube.

  1. Is it just me or does the lead singer of the plain white T's look like Kevin Rose? Every time I hear "Hey there Delilah" I picture Kevin singing it with Alex Albrecht, his diggnation cohost, backing him up on the violin. I find that image a little disturbing.

  2. What the crap is this? I mean, I'm all for the shat getting in music videos and I want to like anything that incorporates the mac boot noise on principle but that actual song? It hurts my brain. Apologies if it gets into anyones head.

In #2, I like the guy's face near the end.

1. After the song, Alex puts down the violin and says "That was totally rad. Bring on the brewskies!"

2. A country song about being cooler online? Doesn't that cut out both potential target demographics? I mean, the people who are online don't traditionally listen to country music, and the people who do call the internet "that computer thingy".

I don't know Pete, once Jeff Foxworthy clips started showing up on the intertron, I think the paradigm started to shift and the ramifications were significant. Things like the Amish looking into Segweys and Vint Cerf going out and buying some chaps.

Oh, but you were spot on about Alex. Good call.
