And then came February

I always have a hard time spelling February. I have to mispronounce it in my head to get it right. Anywho, classes have been burying me. No fun for this kid for the last two weeks and it's looking like my first respite will be the Watchman opening next week.
Also on the "not quite fully awesome" front, someone saw fit to kick my bike over in the middle of the night. I called the insurance guys, they came and got it and I just heard back that there was $2300 in damage. My $150 deductible is looking pretty great right now.
Past that its more of the same. Great weather, well some rain now and then, attempts at cooking, I totally over did my venison this week and it came out pretty dry, and school.
I'll try and wrestle a mountain lion or something for next time so I have something more interesting to recount.

$2300? Did they just kick it over or did they drag it around the block a couple times on its side too?

That stinks about the bike, but that's a good deal with the insurance. I just have liability on mine, but I'm thinking about upping that (for the other "just-in-case" events). Though, my bike's not nearly worth enough :D...

Are there many mountain lions around UCSC?

The damage was:
new radiator (bent the corner of it)
new muffler
tank work (dent fix and paint match)
new turn signals, front and back
handle bar end cap
foot peg
lower engine cover

It looks like it was all from the single impact of getting kicked over, kinda crazy.

And there are mountain lions here, or at least signs purporting their existence. I had wanted to fight one for a while and then realized my understanding of their size was wrong (I thought like 80 lbs, really more like 150 lbs). Still, if I pulled it off it'd be a pretty great story.

Did the brake or shift lever (depending on what side it fell on) pierce the engine cover? Do you have it chained up so no one can roll it away?

The engine cover was mainly cosmetic (impact damage and some minor scrapes). I do not chain it up but I do turn the handles to the left and lock that so that it cannot be rolled away(but it could be picked up and carried if people had friends and were so inclined.
